Lawchek® and Lawsonline™ provide access to information about the law for both the legal community and the public.  We offer compatible information at both sites. At the most basic level, the two sites offer different searching styles and strategies based on user preference.  Lawsonline™ remains in the easy point-and-click frames atmosphere while Lawchek® has moved to explore navigation styles that offer a larger viewing area.  Lawchek® is geared toward the general public (through library membership) and the general legal community.  Lawsonline™ is geared towards the legal community and its connections.

Lawchek® was first dedicated to the production of informational CDs and online directories used by lawyers and libraries across the nation.  As technology allowed all information to be easily provided in an online atmosphere, Lawchek® has evolved from CD production to online membership.  At the same time Lawsonline evolved as an online source with directory and membership materials for the larger legal community.  In the end this created two strong online entities.  Many legal professionals identify with Lawsonline™ but many library patrons and lawyers identify with Lawchek®.  By sharing information between the two sites we make sure these groups are connected.

When you mouse over the headings on the Lawchek® main menu, a drop down menu should appear.  If it does not appear you do not have Java enabled or the script is not compatible.*  We understand not all Internet users like Java so an alternate menu has been provided.  To go there now click here.  To get to this menu from the main page click on the 'LAWCEHK®' header on the left side of the menu or scroll to the bottom of the page where it states 'If a point-and-click menu is preferable - please click here'.

The frames on Lawchek® have been replaced with a drop down menu.  The purpose of this new design is to free up viewing space for looking through directories and other online resources.  However, all membership services (email, forms, etc.) will still move your browser into frames.

PDF is a file extension that is short for 'Portable Document Format'.  These files are easy to view online, save and print.  Once you have downloaded the free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader you may view, save or print these documents.

Lawchek® LetterPro is a group of pre-drafted letter templates for home or business use.  Whether your writing for a bill adjustment or clarification or desire to access public records, these templates will help get you started.

Currently searches allowed only for members are State and Federal Court Cases and Codes.  Also members have access to easily search for state specific forms.
